This book was found in France in a large box of religious books of the same period. This Methode Abregee et Facile pour apprendre la Geography is directed in the prologue to a French lady, who apparently wanted to learn the Geography of the world. The book is well put together, both physically and in method. It lists the various countries and continents with 12 folded maps at the beginning of each chapter. The chapters describe the country or continent and the current government at the time as well as some of the characteristics of the country/continent. The maps are as follows. Europe, France (torn), Provences Unies des Pays Bas (Netherlands)Spain/Portugal, British Isles (1/2 missing), Poland, Russia (part missing), Africa, Asia, America, Sweden/Norway and South America. In the end of the book is also a table of principal towns with their longitude and latitudes. The book is in fair condition, with binding tight and the leather cover intact. All of it shows the considerable age of this book with some toning and spotting, but mostly the pages are in good to very good condition. To my eye the maps may not be correct to the topography of today, which makes the book all the more interesting. Book is 380 pages with front fly page possibly missing.
