This is a stunnIng 18thC VERY RARE ANTIQUE GEORGE II SOLID SILVER TOY MINIATURE SAUCE BOAT. I believe it was made during the reign of George II circa 1755. There are no apparent hallmarks but judging by the quality, construction, look and weight of the piece it is 18thC made in England and not a 19thC one made in Holland. It was not necessary to hallmark very small silver items in England at this time which is probably why there is no makers mark. These rare miniature toy pieces of everyday silver items found in wealthy households were made for their children to play with. They are now very collectable and becoming increasingly hard to find in this superb condition. The condition is excellent with no damage or repairs and with a lovely patina.
